Series Recap: How We Got to Game 3
Game 1 – Oklahoma 9, North Carolina 3: Both lineups struck in the first inning before Oklahoma pulled away with a four-run fourth. Deiten Lachance homered twice and had three hits. Camden Johnson and Jaxon Willits also contributed with two hits apiece. Jason DeCaro lasted just 3.2 innings, surrendering seven earned runs as the Sooners ran away with Game 1.
Game 2 – North Carolina 6, Oklahoma 2: The Tar Heels bounced back behind Ryan Lynch, who allowed two runs over four innings before departing with an apparent oblique injury. Caden Glauber then took over and was dominant – posting five scoreless innings with eight strikeouts and one hit allowed. Jake Schaffner hit a two-run triple in the third to tie the game at 2-2 and scored on a wild pitch to take the lead, Owen Hull homered for a key insurance run, and Cooper Nicholson added another long ball in the seventh to seal it.
All eyes now turn to Omaha tonight for a crucial Game 3 that will either crown UNC for the first time in program history or deliver OU’s first title since 1994.
