The 2026-27 college football season is here, with Week 0 kicking off the new campaign. Football returns to Tallahassee, Florida, on Saturday night as the Florida State Seminoles host the New Mexico State Aggies at Doak Campbell Stadium.

Mike Norvell is trying to bring FSU back into the college football spotlight after back-to-back disappointing seasons in which the Seminoles went 2-10 in 2024 and 5-7 last year. The pressure is on Norvell to turn things around, but he has several intriguing players at his disposal, including fifth-year Auburn transfer quarterback Ashton Daniels and his dual-threat abilities. FSU also returns 2025 First-Team All-ACC wide receiver Duce Robinson, who recorded 1,081 receiving yards and six touchdowns in his first season with the Seminoles.

New Mexico State is entering its fourth season in Conference USA as third-year head coach Tony Sanchez looks to shake off back-to-back losing seasons and make his team a contender in the conference. The Aggies will also have a new quarterback under center, with Furman transfer Trey Hedden taking over after recording 4,734 passing yards and 30 touchdowns in two seasons with the Paladins. Hedden will get the first crack at facing a revamped FSU pass defense on Saturday night.
